Bologna Comiso flights
Bologna Airport offers direct flights from/to Comiso, Sicily. On this page you will find all the information needed.
ComisoAn old town in the hinterland of southern Sicily, Comiso owes its charme to the many populations that inhabited this area over the centuries, and to the fact that it is a privileged door to the many Sicilian southern gems. In fact, from Comiso you will easily reach Ragusa, Modica and Noto, UNESCO world heritage sites with their baroque treasures. Not to mention the wonderful beaches in the south east of the region.
Ragusa is famous all over the world for the over 50 churches and many buildings boasting a baroque heritage at its best. Cast on a hill, the small village of Ibla overlooks the surrounding valley, with its tiny houses and alleys over which reigns the imposing Duomo of St. George, the highest baroque manifestation in town. After being listed in the Val di Noto UNESCO heritage, the town has become popular also thanks to the Italian TV series ‘Il Commissario Montalbano’.
Modica, today universally recognised as chocolate producer of Aztec origins, also belongs to the baroque UNESCO cities. A city rich in history, among stunning churches set on mountaintops and late-baroque buildings with an imposing and elegant splendour.
Noto is a little Sicilian Baroque gem. A fascinating town cast on an upland dominating the Asinaro valley. It was a relevant Sicilian, Roman, Byzantine and then Arabic centre, which then got destroyed by the 1693 earthquake right in its climax, and was then magnificently rebuilt becoming a wonderful art city.
Not only art, as you cannot possibly miss out on the sea if you visit Sicily. From Gela to Capo Passero you will come across several seaside towns with breathtaking beaches, alternating with archeological sites. Gela boasts 30 kilometres of fine sandy beaches, Marina di Modica stands for the surfers’ heaven, Marina di Ragusa is a renowned and well-equipped seaside resort, Licata is popular for its beaches and proximity to archeological sites, Porto Empedocle and San Leone offer golden beaches and limestone rocks and Sciacca has crystal-water sea and Spas.
