Its historical centre hosts magnificent buildings in Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and modern style. The core of all is the Market Square, Rynek, home to the Town Hall.
Highly recommended is a visit to the “House of the Griffins”, its facade adorned with griffins and eagles, St. John the Baptist’s Cathedral and the University, founded at the beginning of the XVIII century by the Austrian Emperor Leopold I.
