Air quality monitoring system

Air pollution from airport operations is an environment key element that Bologna Airport intent to carefully monitor in order to investigate the contribution of airport to the local air quality. That’s why an air quality monitoring system is installed, and includes 2 fix stations located around the airport. Each station measures the following elements: Particulate (PM₁₀ e PM_2,5), dioxide oxygen (NO₂), Benzene (C₆H₆).

Environmental Regional Agency (ARPAE) elaborates and validates the data from the system, including comparisons with data obtained from other stations located in surrounding areas, with the aim to evaluate the contribution of airport to the local air pollution. Every month ARPAE produce technical reports that Bologna Airport publishes on the website, available to the public.
